Maybe Mom

This is a blog about my journey, hopefully, to motherhood. My husband and I are currently trying to conceive our first child with the help of assisted reproduction. We're so grateful for modern medical technology! The road to baby often leads to feelings of hope and excitement followed by sadness, anger and jealousy. I'll lay it all on the line here. Thanks for stopping by!

Ovarian Reserve Lab Test Results

Ovarian Reserve Timeline

The nurse from my reproductive endocrinologist's office called today with my ovarian reserve results.
She said they like the result to be above 1, and mine is 6.9. I'm hoping this is a good number. I've read mixed results about it. One website said that anything over 6 is usually seen in people with PCOS and another said that 6 is just the upper end of "normal". I'll have to call my doctor tomorrow and find out more. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Tomorrow I'm having my hysterosalpingogram (HSG) test. This is the test where dye is inserted into your uterus and Fallopian tubes to check for abnormalities and they check the uterus for polyps/fibroids. I'm a bit nervous as I've heard it can be uncomfortable. My doc is having me take 800mg Ibuprofen and an antibiotic before and after the exam. Since my doc doesn't do the test so they referred me to a doctor who is supposed to be "the best" in our local area. Stay tuned to find out how it went!
